Albert 2 Software >

The Brief: Create a creative concept and user experience & interface for Albert, the next-generation 3D foot scanning software for Aetrex Worldwide

The Solution: While exploring different scenarios in which consumers will get their feet scanned in the retail space, I realized that such a mundane experience like scanning your feet may be extremely boring and possibly even denied, unless one has actual foot problems. I wanted to turn it into an experience that will feel more like an engaging adventure which is fun and enjoyable:

The user will be guided by a technician in the store, starting with a 30 seconds 'Rube Goldberg'-type Attractor Loop (see video above) that was fully created by me in a 3D environment, from concept to script to execution. It The Attractor Loop leads to the actual scanning process that takes 10 seconds, followed by the results of the foot scan in full 3D that can be zoomed-in and turned around, and a 2D scan of the feet's pressure map, as well as an orthotic recommendation. Next, the user will get to experience FitHQ, a place where the store inventory of shoes are featured in the perfect size and shape to fit the user, based on their preferred shoe style or brand. Last but not least, the user can enjoy the Learning Center - a library of hundreds of videos on foot conditions and other fun facts that are based on the user's foot profile. All the movies were created in a 3D environment, and demonstrated by a 3D character I created from scratch - Albert. To create this character I hired a team of 3D artists that used the inspiration i provided them with, as well as a wardrobe direction, hairstyle, demeanor etc. I scanned through over 30 voice actors to find the right voice for Albert, who needed to be authoritative, smart, trust worthy and friendly.

Albert 2 was launched in October 2020, and will be available in retail stores in February 2021.
